Meetings

Meeting Time:

The Madison Bead Society meets the 4th Tuesday of each month (except in December and January) from 6:30 to 8:30 - unless otherwise noted.  Officers meet at 6:00 on meeting nights; all members are welcome to attend

Meeting Place

 We try to alternate between the east and west side of Madison.  Some meetings are held at local libraries and some at local bead stores.

Subsequent meetings: $5.00 each

Program: Peyote Tube Earrings

Instructor: 

Supplies: Delica beads (4 colors), beading thread (Nymo, Fireline (6 lb) Wildfire, etc.) 2 beading needles, round-nose pliers, a pair of ear wires, 2 headpines, 4 - 4mm bicone beads, and size 8 beads (about 20 total).

   At the end of this project, you should have one completed earring, learned how to read a peyote pattern, and picked up a couple of tricks for working with the peyote stitch.

Program: Bead Loom

Instructor: Mary Jo Schiavoni

Supplies: bead loom, beading thread (Nyma will work and so will Wildfire), size 10 beading needle, 3 colors of seed beads either size 8 or size 6 [Editor's note: if you have not bead looming before, use size 6 beads; you can mix sizes of you have more experience]

Notes: Mary Jo will go over the basics of bead looming.  There will be a couple of extra looms at the meeting.


March 28, 2022

Program: Bead Soup Necklace

Instructor: Mary Jo Schiavoni

Supplies: Bead soup (a mix of various sized beads, seed beads, small beads, etc.); long needle, jewelry pliers, cones or long beads (if using cones, you will need a small piece of wire or headpins, if using long beads, you will need knot cups and glue), Sono 100% beading thread 78 dtex 2x2. Optional - a bead spinner.

Heavy cording, a strip of foam core board, and tape will be provided at the meting.
